Taking it back to the basics— energy can not be created nor destroyed. We learn this principle in middle school science class and accept it for what it is, but I think it is about time we apply it to all our lives.

Energy exists in everything, or rather energy is everything and makes up everything. It travels through vibrations and different levels or types of energy have different vibrations. With that said, it must be recognized that thoughts, food, words, actions, and all other things we have or do in our lives also carry energy. These different energies can be measured using the emotional vibrational frequency chart. Lower vibrational things carry energies such as fear or anger while actions full of love and peace land much higher on the chart.

Negativity is something everyone has experienced both towards themselves as well as against others, making negative situations inevitable, although how one chooses to deal with is not. Most people get some dirt kicked on them and either kick it right back or onto the next person, but that will just prolong the process of it returning your way. Instead of holding onto negative emotions, you can learn to release them instead, which is exactly what I am going to explain how to do.

How To Cope With Negativity

1. Do not claim this energy

In order to not let somebody else's negative energy affect you, it is crucial to not let it in, to begin with. That may be easier said than done, but visualizing a wall standing between you both may help or remind yourself that everyone has their own story and you do not have to be a part of it. Letting foreign energies, beliefs, and emotions in is a choice we forget we have and instead tend to think somebody else actions "made" us feel a certain way when we chose how to react. Separating yourself, and your high energy, will not allow for these lower vibrations to resonate with you.

2. Have a safe place to retreat

It may be hard to not let lower frequencies bring you down with them which is why you must remind yourself of who you are. Do something you love, get lost in your passions, find your flow, as these distractions will give you some inner peace and remind you that the negative energy trying to reach you is not yours to have. A safe place can be a mindset if you are in a situation that cannot be left or it can be a physical place that provides you happiness and peace of mind away from whatever storm may be raining down outside.

3. Recharge yourself

Now that you have wiped yourself clean of any energy attempting to permeate your own peace, recharge yourself with encouraging thoughts and affirmations. Just like eating protein after a workout, you might need a little boost to feel like yourself again and to heighten your vibrations. Affirmations are a great way to do this as any time you may come in contact with lower energies, you can recall back on them for more protection. It gets easier every time and despite being a never-ending cycle, not letting negativity affect you will come back tenfold.

Negative energy is something that can be good in small amounts like the instinctual fear experienced when presented with potential danger, but more often than not, it makes life a little harder and spreads like a disease. It will always be present whether you like it or not, so I think it is about time we all learn how to cope with it so we can pass along more love than hate. This topic is very broad and reaches across many different ideas so I may have only touched on a few points in this post, but it is connected heavily to the law of attraction, manifestation, and karma. I look forward to continuing similar discussions in other posts, so as always, please let me know of any suggestions, and other than that, thank you for reading.
