I am so excited to announce that this week's post will be a collab with a fellow spiritually driven teenager like myself named Greta Chappell-Lakin, also known as @tarotreadingsbygreta on Instagram. We have teamed up to show you guys what a tarot reading is all about and I will be sharing insight on a reading she did for me. Before I get into it, I want to make sure you all check out her Instagram and website so you too can get a personalized reading from her just like I did!
About Greta:
(information is from her website, Spiritually Connected)
"Hey! my name is Greta Chappell-Lakin and I'm the writer behind spiritually connected! I've loved spiritual practices for years (my aunt gave me my first tarot deck when I was 12) and I've always found things like divination and contacting spirits so interesting. I believe in things that some people see as impossible and I take pride in that. I made this blog so that like-minded spiritual people like me can come together! I also do tarot readings so if you want one just DM me on Instagram"

Out of Greta's wide variety of different spreads to choose from I went with the dream/life/fear three-card spread as I thought it would be a great option to share with all my readers and to stick with my theme of being Lost in Thought. The first thing she told me to do was pick the first three numbers that come to head which were 4,7,6. With these numbers she pulled the corresponding cards:
Dream: King of Swords
Life: Nine of Swords
Fear: Nine of Pentacles
(Bonus Card: Knight of Swords)
Before diving into the individual meanings for each card, there is an abundance of the Swords family which represents masculinity, the element of air, and intellect. Pentacles was also pulled which brings in themes of connection to consciousness, home, and the element of earth.
King of Swords: intelligence/logic
This card represents my dreams meaning I want to learn more and better myself as I am very curious and constantly seek new things. I want to learn as much as I can and try to understand the world. This card really resonated with my dreams as this platform I have created is a physical manifestation of that goal of mine to better myself as much as possible. My journey with spirituality is right along these lines of seeking to understand the world to the best of my ability and my open curiosity towards the unknown.
Nine of Swords: release/embrace
Nine of Swords was drawn in reverse to symbolize my life, which according to the card suggests that for the first time in a long time I am not as afraid as I once was. I am finally able to see the great parts of life since I have left fear behind. I can see this in my own life, in this particular part of my life especially, as I have learned to just be myself and enjoy life for what it is.
Nine of Pentacles: stability/happiness
This card was pulled to identify my fears which is so accurate as it shows how afraid I am my manifestations/wishes/goals backfiring. I am afraid that I will receive something I wished for in a form I did not intend for and that it will give me a more unexpected result.
Knight of Swords: creativity/abundance
This was a bonus card that fell out of the deck while doing my reading which means it is a general piece of advice and crucial to the results of the reading. Knight of Swords represents my creativity that has been flowing very fast lately, hence this post being the second one this week. This card suggests that I should dive into ideas I have been holding off as they need to be explored and pursued.
I want to thank Greta again for working on this with me and please please please check her page out I promise you will not be disappointed (I sure wasn't!). I hope this sparked some interest in tarot for some of you who may not be as familiar with it, or if not now you at least know a little bit more than you did before. I really wanted to share my experiences with tarot along with my readers and I love the way this turned out.
