LOST IN THOUGHT
Emma Claire
19 years old
From an early age, I have had a way with words. A way that secluded me in bedrooms illuminated by reading lights and expanded my mind at the sight of a blank page. A blank page is enthralling with its limitless abyss waiting for you, its beholder, to make the first move. Thus, was born my double life of a writer, succumbed to mundanities despite the ever-rapid thoughts and twisted perceptions of the world. A writer who, in fear of losing their creative spark, chose to spend her nights crafting a website to share her inner thoughts instead of keeping up on the latest high school drama. Lost in Thought Blog was born in the winter of 2018 and is still alibr in 2023 by the power behind a little girl’s dream that will continue to burn. The sight of looking in the mirror and seeing a published writer still motivates me to get out of bed some mornings when the blankets are too soft to rise from and I can confidently say that I am closer to that goal every day that I do. I am a sophomore Creative Writing and Publishing & Editing student at Susquehanna University. I am the junior design editor of one of our campus literary magazines, Essay. I focus on creative nonfiction and poetry. I am a writer. I never thought I would be saying those words, so that is why Lost in Thought Blog lives on, to remind me that I am a writer and I don’t need anyone else’s approval to say that I am. This is a platform for my creative works and a documentation of my stamina, growth, and creativity through the years. Thank you for reading.
